FAQs

Access will be closed 10 weeks after purchasing. Access is limited to keep you motivated to commit to the task and complete the lessons.
Yes, you can complete the full module twice within the 10 weeks. After completing the module once, you can start it once again. But don't forget, the module closes after 10 weeks. I recommend doing the Module during the first 5 weeks and then you can do it again for even better answers until the closing date.
Yes, you can click the "Check" button after you have solved each exercise. With questions tailored to your job I provide only CHECKPOINTS AND SAMPLE SOLUTIONS, so you can have some guidance if you are stuck.
The lessons use the “analysis–synthesis” method, which is very common in scientific thinking. We are going to first break down the general work activities into smaller elements, then rebuild them in Professional English, but now tailored to your specific situations. Each sentence frame comes with an example sentence, so you can clearly see how to use it correctly. This will really feel like playing in a sandbox.
To make sure you will actually remember these sentence frames, I support you in learning them by a variety of exercises and questions in each lesson. We are going to start with reading and listening to the sentence frames. I recommend that you listen many times and repeat after the audio, trying to copy the pronunciation. Then we move on to creative activities that are based on the methodology of Task-Based Learning, so the learning situation gets as close as possible to your actual work situations. Make sure you start using the sentence frames on the job the next day. Nothing is more effective than using the new material in real life. Find as many situations as possible to keep practising and you will become confident very soon.
The methodology of Task Based Learning puts your own job in the center of the Module, so you will directly feel the beneficial effects of the exercises, which will keep you motivated till the end. You should also regularly visit the blog and other contents of the website because the articles also help and motivate learners on the way.
The English on the Job site also has a small dictionary about the key professional words, so make sure you start to check meanings there. You can also use any good dictionary. My personal favourite is Glosbe, but feel free to use whatever you are comfortable with in your native language. I also recommend that you don't try to translate everything, monolingual dictionaries, like Oxford, or Merriam-Webster are great at explaining the meaning of a word in English as well.
If you cannot answer a question about your job, because you don't feel any relevance, feel free to leave it unanswered. The module uses a wide range of work activities, but some may still be irrelevant for you.
You should do the studying on a PC, not on a cell screen. The coursebook may be viewed fullscreen for better view over the whole material. Always go in order in the book, because the materials build on each other. You should keep the book open on your screen all the time and visit back only for at least 10 minutes every day to study the sentence frames.
